Frequently Asked Questions

  • We offer a range of solutions designed to meet your needs, whether you're moving and need a full house declutter or you just need that one room put back into a functioning area, we will tailor our services to your needs.

  • Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or schedule a call. We’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.

  • We begin with a phone consultation to discuss your needs and determine if our services are a good fit.

Next, we schedule an in-home consultation to evaluate the scope of the project and establish a plan.

From there, we book work sessions where we focus on one area at a time. During each session, we sort items into categories such as keep, donate, discard, or sell.

We create a focused, low-stress environment that allows us to make meaningful progress with each visit.

At the end of each session, we remove donations on your behalf, saving you an extra trip and helping clear the space quickly.

  • We are one of the very few — and possibly the only — full-time, year-round professional organizing companies in the Anchorage area. This is not a side hustle or seasonal work. Organizing is our profession.

We have been in business since 2019 and are the only local organizer who is a member of the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals (NAPO), with extensive training and ongoing education in best practices.

We are fully insured and operate as a professional business, not an informal service.

Just as important, we approach every project with compassion. We understand that clutter often comes from life transitions, overwhelm, health challenges, or simply being stretched too thin. Our work is judgment-free. We meet people where they are and help them move forward with clarity, dignity, and support.

  • Many people describe themselves as hoarders, but in most cases, they’re simply overwhelmed by clutter—not clinically diagnosed with hoarding disorder.

We do not work with individuals who have been clinically diagnosed with hoarding disorder, as that level of support typically requires specialized training and involvement from mental health professionals. Our services are best suited for clients who are ready to make decisions and take action, even if the process feels emotional or difficult.

If you're unsure where you fall, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to help you assess whether we're a good fit.

  • You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.

Words From Past Clients

  • Meeting you where you are—and getting it done

Teri is amazing at what she does — and you can tell she loves it. She’s energetic, kind, honest, and straightforward. She helped my husband and me declutter our home, including a 2-car garage packed with years of stuff. In one Saturday, working with Teri and two friends, we hauled 1.5 tons to the dump. She was also very understanding and accommodating of my physical limitations, meeting me exactly where I was. I highly recommend Teri and Declutter To Move to anyone needing help decluttering, whether you’re moving or not.

  • Compassionate help during life’s hardest moments

Teri was a God send. I had lost my son and couldn't focus on anything. The thought of packing up and getting organized after living here for 8yrs was daunting. Teri came in and helped me focus but most of all she is very caring. She is awesome at her job.

  • Thoughtful guidance tailored to you

Teri Webster is the ministering angel of decluttering. Working with her, everything felt almost magically easier to get going and keep going. She's very hands on and easy to work with. I felt like her recommendations were really suited for me personally, not some generic advice, and it always felt like there was a fit. That made the work go fast as well. Can't recommend her highly enough, try her out.

  • From decades of stuff to a manageable move—without yard sales or overwhelm.

Next to death and taxes, moving belongs on the list of things we’d rather avoid. Thankfully, Declutter To Move stepped in to save us. After 37 years in our Anchorage home—with two sons and four dogs—we had accumulated a lot. Teri took the lead in helping us downsize and plan a move to our smaller, already-furnished home in Syracuse, NY, breaking everything into manageable blocks of time, bags, and boxes.

Her real superpower is her knowledge of local sources—who takes what, and what’s worth selling, donating, shipping, or letting go. She handled donations, compared shipping versus selling, identified items worth expert evaluation, and spared us from yard sales entirely. Staging everything in our two-car garage kept it all straight, with clear piles for pickup, selling, or hauling to solid waste. Moving was still moving—but with Teri, it was finally manageable.

  • Supportive decluttering during life’s hardest transitions

After recent loss of multiple family members, I became overwhelmed with the clutter and physical items in my home. I knew I wanted to rid my life of items and organize my home with intention. This task does not come easy to me. Working with Declutter to Move was wonderful. Easy to contact and schedule appropriately. My husband and I did two days. One day was working on my stuff, the other on his stuff. Even though I mentally prepared myself for decluttering, it was difficult to let go of some items. The team was wonderful about helping me achieve my goal and realize memories remain even if the items are gone. We accomplished so much in our sessions. I am very grateful for Declutter to Move

  • From overwhelmed to moved—without the stress

If you want an stress-free, worry free move done fast and efficiently, I would strongly urge you to hire Declutter to Move. Teri is absolutely fantastic! She knows what she's doing and she moves at the speed of light. I have lived in my house for 36 years and raised 5 kids in it. So you can imagine how much stuff I had to sort through. The crawlspace, the garage...oh my gosh! I had started sorting through things, but the more I thought about what still needed to be done before I could move, I quickly became overwhelmed with the enormity of it. Declutter To Move to the rescue! Teri and I had a consultation and worked out a time for her to start. Two days of sorting and one day of packing. It was done. What a relief. It would have taken me forever by myself. I highly recommend Teri with Declutter To Move. You won't go wrong with her.
